Moped Insurence HELP! :(

im 16 in a few days and im looking at getting a moped,
but the insurance quotes im getting are over the top for my budget.
my last quote was £456 for a Provisional moped licence.
how can i get the cost down ?

Hi my 16 yo son got his with Swinton for £172 through quidco - so he got £30 cashback ( this was at the beginning of Aug). You do have to be careful - the more expensive quotes will charge you big bucks - but you will be fully comp - however they will charge you quite a hefty excess if you make a claim £500 ish.
My son went for the cheaper quote - 3rd party only - not covered for fire and theft - so he knows he has to be careful where he leaves it etc and he has disk lock and another lock for it.
Shop around - try money supermarket for price comparisons and think about where you will be leaving your scooter and what sort of cover you need/can afford - it is not easy.........0
