Name and Address on Refund
Comments
-
I used to work for PC World and right across DSGi details are captured for all refunds and exchanges.
The primary reasons for this were security (someone has already mentioned thieves buying an item, stealing one and returning one etc) but also to provide a full audit trail in case we had to look it up later.
This was most frequently the case with laptops/PCs where people may have had an exchange etc, and on many occasions we had to look up this information when it came to handling customer service issues. Guess how we trace it? You got it - name and address.
If you're ever in a DSGi store and are asked for name and address, just ask them to select the 'No Marketing' option that is always presented to the cashier, if you're worried about that sort of thing.
Any advice or opinion is only informal advice to the best of my knowledge. Just covering my back, yadda yadda.0
