I guess Belkin are gonna be f****d soon then, they guarantee anywhere between £35,000 to an unlimited amount if your equipment gets fried when using their surge/spike protectors.

Do you know how a surge/spike protector works?

I blame the steroids I'm taking, they get me going at such a rate of knots I feel like I'm 17 again :)

I happen to manufacture anti-lightening strike pocket talismans, on sale for just £10 each, and I'm so confident in their efficacy that I guarantee to pay £50k to anyone who carries one and yet gets hit by lightening.

    Damn - I just stole Belkin's business model - I hope they don't sue.

I have no doubt they pay out £thousands each year to customers who've had equipment damaged, it's worth it for the £35k insurance" headline.

....and I've also seen the damage a power spike can cause to a PC, which is why I'll never again buy a cheap PSU

I feel like an 18 year old. Trouble is they all feel I'm far too old and ugly :(

BTW - there is far more energy in a local lightening strike than a couple of chokes and a tiny spark gap could possibly divert/absorb.
