I had this earlier this year with KLM & Air France amongst others. They'd spelled my first name wrong (wasn't my fault as it was correct on the confirmations but incorrect on the printed tickets).

No one even batted an eyelid.

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."
  • Hi My Sister had this problem a couple of weeks ago, flying with Ryanair, a group of ladies, someone else booked tickets, and spelt my sisters first name wrong, Rosemary instead of Rosemarie, my Sister was panicking, said she wasn't going to go, and definitely not paying the £100 for a name change, she decided to risk it, and everything went smoothly, wasn't spotted.
  • It say this

Passenger Details - All passenger names must match those in the passport/accepted travel document

On the line just above where you put your name in
  • this happened to me at the beginning of the year... i booked a name with wrong spelling panicked phoned ryanair and they ammended it free of charge... guess i was one of the lucky ones

Ryanair are one of the companies that are quite good at making minor changes free of charges despite their reputation. Whether they would regard this as a minor change is debatable, but I would try calling again and explaining the situation without mentioning "name change".

unfortunately, i bet ryanair see this as someone else travelling instead, as opposed to a spelling mistake. after all, Harry might have booked, but realised he couldn't go, so his brother Henry will.

with some of the others (rosemary instead of rosemarie, hayley instead of haley, tracey instead of tracy) it is obvious what the name is and what the name should be, and that it is the same person travelling.
