Holiday help - 18th September - Algarve

HI Savers,
Managed to get some last minute time off work. Need to go out 18th September for 7 nights. $ adults, 1 child 1 infant. Was looking for a villa in central Algarve close to the beach as I have an elderly mum. Had a look around on the net and there are some possibilities but thought I would check in with you guys for any advice?
Also am up for other destinations but main criteria is not too long a flight (5hrs) due to kids. Near beach!

Alvor and Carvoeiro are very nice. Check the location of the accommodation on a map to see how far out of town it is.
Further west is Lagos which is also a popular resort.
There is also lots of advice on tripadvisor.0
