Hello,
been loitering for while and today I decided to join and I am so glad I have! :money:
Anyway, I am looking for a half decent pc package. I will generally use it for internet, basic photo editing, word processing, usual home use. Only absolute requirement is that the monitor needs to be a flat panel. Budget is around £250.
Thank you.

Have you checked ebay? There's some great deals going with many reputable sellers on there! Obviously I'd only use high rated sellers, use paypal with a credit card etc.
I say this as I used to build pc's for a living but it's cheaper and quicker for me to buy from ebay.
I'd advoid pc world/dixons myself. I had a long running court case with them over a pc that had everything replaced at least twice in the first 5 months of use. :mad:0 -
Well I have looked at eBay but I'm not sure who is a good seller and who is not and what computers are good and not, etc...can someone point me in the right direction? Or are there any good website that allow self build around £300??0

Well If you absolutely have to have it under £250 There is a system on ebuyer for £143.99 it has linux preinstalled on it, although you could install windows xp on it if you wish.

It comes without a monitor the cheepest flat screen they do is this one

It comes in at £86.94. If you select thier super saver postage option the lot will cost £238.00. You might wish to put in a set of speakers too as they are not included in the bundle.0
