Returning to the scene of the "crime"

My car was parked (by another peron) some months ago in a Car Park "managed" by Excel some months ago, and I received a series of increasingly demanding attempts to part me with my money for a 21 minute "overstay". These have now dried up.

On returning to this carpark recently, I noted our car had some close attention from their [STRIKE]goon[/STRIKE] Parking Operative. They have cameras at this site. Are they organised, or am I paranoid?

    Does it matter?

    What do you mean,close attention?!

I wouldn't dream of parking somewhere like that if I was already in dispute with them...

Same here - they might clamp the vehicle if they determine there is an oustanding 'request for payment' on it.

You give them too much credit.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

    PRESS THANKS

By "close attention" I mean stalking around near the car chattering into a Walkie Talkie.

In dispute - well I had ignored them. They've given up.

Are we giving them too much credit? Does their camera alert their people on the ground to a "non-payer" turning up?

Clamping with no cause, especially in the current climate - I'd love to see them try! My disc cutter beckons.

    That would be illegal.

Unless they went to court and got a CCJ and you didnt pay it then they call in the baliffs all in the space of the time you park there for.

I do not think Excel operate clamping etc. (see their website). Just PCN's. As such they cannot do anything about the ticket you have rightly ignored. Not without a court order!

    By the way.......I'M PARANOID........!!!

Maybe they were just admiring your car, James_N. Nowt they can do except take you to Small Claims which you know they won't do as they lost a couple of cases.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
