My partner is unemployed and expecting our 1st child in early november,I earn £25000 what benefits can she claim right now if any?

Comments

  • Nothing. Except the £190 HIP grant if she has not done so already. She needs to contact her midwife for a form.
  • maybe I should pack my job in i guess. Are we still entitled to the £500 surestart grant?

Don't be so silly, why would you want to give up work?
    Gone ... or have I?

For what? A life on benefits? Do you strive for a life on benefits or a good career where you can provide for the family you have?

You're starting a 'family', not a 'financial burden'.

Well that makes it more straightforward. Your partner is unable to claim anything except the HIP grant of £190. As I said above, she needs to contact her midwife for the form.

On £25k you should have no problem providing for the 3 of you. Alot of people manage on alot less.

But his partner may have been had she been claiming JSA or IS whilst not living with him.

Not that thats relevent anymore, since the OP stated his partner is moving in with him.
