Hi
I apologise if this has already been asked about, I did search.
I got this laptop in May, preowned but clean reinstall of Windows 7. I run Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. Prior to my problems my daughter had the same problems on her netbook and I poo-pooed kaspersky as being to blame but wanted your opinion (and advice on fixing it) (she switched to AVG and firefox and is fine now but i distrust AVG)
I am the only user of this laptop. I habitually have it remember passwords to autofill on sites that I deem OK (Not my bank, for example) but on regular forums and facebook I stay logged in with the "remember me" functions. I had no problem with doing this until about 2 weeks ago, when suddenly I would be on a forum and find I had been logged out, mid session!
I've searched the Kaspersky forum to no avail, I have looked at my IE settings (I don't want to be forced to change browser particularly) and I have fiddled with them, cleared remembered passwords, etc and when that did not help I set it back to default settings. Now, even though I have set IE to store passwords but not autofill forms it does not remember every site, and I am still continually being logged out of my main forum several times per session.
I have run Malwarebytes Antimalware whilst not connected to the internet, I have run Kaspersky Antivirus scans, nothing is turning up.
It's so frustrating, would be grateful for help if anyone knows what is going on or what settings I have messed up.

It's not likely to be your PC or any software which is "logging you out" of websites.
It's likely to be the websites' own security.
Are you using any other PCs to go on the same sites for example?
If you're logged in on multiple locations, most modern sites will log out duplicate sessions.
Change your password and don't update the saved password if you have any concerns (don't save it),.0 -
The main forum I have the problem with has never had that facility, none of my friends have the problem of being logged out. It even has a 'remember me' button to check when logging in.
I'm not logging in at any other location either, and my daughter having the same problem suddenly too is odd. She thinks it was when she first deleted her history that it occurred for her. Actually now I think about it, I might have done the same when it first happened to me.
She also said when she googled it she found other users of Kaspersky moaning about it logging them from sites such as Deviantart.
Thanks for your suggestion though, in this case I don't think thats the issue.IAAR/IAAMM/MFTMFAQ/IOA6BH0 -
When you deleted your history, did you have the "delete cookies," "delete saved passwords" and "clear saved form data" cleared out?
Is probably where your problem stems from...0 -
Possibly cookies but not the others, but the forum I use puts a cookie on when you 'remember me' so surely that would be put back there next time I logged in?
I don't habitually delete history, as I have it only remember two weeks at a time.IAAR/IAAMM/MFTMFAQ/IOA6BH0 -
I've just 'upgraded' to windows 7 and for a while I kept getting dropped connections from my broadband connection. I am using a wi-fi. I suspect this is the same for you?
Connect to your router using an ethernet cable (one will have come bundled with your router) and visit the websites you have trouble viewing. If everything works well then you will have to update the drivers of your wi-fi on your laptop. Hopefully something will work sooner rather than later!0 -
I'm certain my wifi doesn't keep dropping, and even if it did it would not account for the logouts. I could turn my laptop on and off several times a day/every day for several months, and I never once got logged out of this forum before.
Very frustrating, I hope to get to the bottom of it!IAAR/IAAMM/MFTMFAQ/IOA6BH0 -
Almost certainly a kaspersky issue
Why not post on THEIR forums?:idea:0 -

On Internet Options, Privacy tab, then click the Advanced button, the Advanced Privacy settings window opens, it has the "override automatic cookie handling" radio button unchecked, and "allow session cookies" unchecked too. I do not know if this has changed recently or is normal setup?
Is it likely to help? Session cookies sounds about right. It also makes it sound like it is not set to allow cookies. Thoughts?IAAR/IAAMM/MFTMFAQ/IOA6BH0 -
The one im using now is exactly like that, but it works fine:idea:0
