It sounds like you have separate accounts? If so clarify if he needs all the statements for the household or just his own.

I personally would tell him rather than trying to hide it in any way. I hope you find a suitable solution.

I can't believe he hasn't spotted it yet. I check my account at least once a month.

he hasnt because he really is not interested, as long as we got no one knocking at the door and the bills are paid and he has enough money to go out with thats all he's bothered with, and yes, there are serious probs witht he marriage unfortnately, doesnt excuse antyhing i have done and i have beaten myself up about it forever, but, now, i have insisted because he doesnt know whats going on that he files all the bank statements in case anything happens to me, that way it puts another obstacle in the way so i dont go off the rails, like i say im not proud of it im an intelligent human being, goodness knows how i even started down this road, however, all things being equal all the stuff i have put in place should make it nigh on impossible for me to do it again thank you for your input
  • oops duplicate post
  • just an update, going to just send all the statements off, went to my first G A meeting last night , have also made a folder up for my hubby to keep an eye on the bank statements and made him promise to ask for them at the end of each month but he wont have to because i will give him then, paid and set up gamblock on computor so onwards and upwards , thanks all once again.
  • It's great that you've started to address the gambling problem head on, and set up a filing system for your future bank statements, however, you really do need to let your husband know asap (easier said than done from what you've said) but imagine how much worse it will be if the first he hears of the matter is from his employers, he would be mortified, as anyone would be, which will do your marriage no favours. He needs to be aware of the situation, as he will know best how to approach his employers about the matter.

I know nothing of gambling addiction, but as with any addiction, there won't be any over night quick fix solutions, it needs to be worked through with professionals, so please do continue with the GA meetings, and accept any support they can give you, it's what they're trained to do.

    Hope all goes well.
