    I heard a very moving radio programme where the recipient of one of these boxes described how he had always been told by his mother how awful and uncaring his father was. He was so emotional when he described how wonderful it was to go through the box and find that his father had been thinking of him so much while they had been kept apart by the mother.

    I have also come across grandparents using the same idea after a marriage break-up meant they lost contact with their grandchildren.
