Last year I purchased some items with Great Universal on a bnpl and had until October to pay the cash price off in full to avoid paying interest.
On my online statement it had the cash price as £98.58, so I paid this price and phoned them to confirm it so it could be marked against the BNPL so I did not have to pay interest. The girl at the other end 'had' to do calculations and said it was more I had to pay so I paid an extra £4 from my rewards balance. She then went on to say my balance was zero.
Upon checking my account 2 days later it said I still owed them £70 something (which I assume was the interest) and I contacted them again to be told that the previous girl got the calculations wrong and I still had to pay another £3 or £4 so begrudgingly (sp) I paid this again and was told my balance was at zero.
But my balance a week later is still showing I owe them £70. So this time I emailed them explaining the situation and they said it will not show until my next statement. I am doubtful that this will happen as no one else up to this point had told me this, only took away more of my rewards.
Does anyone know where I stand with this or had similar experiences with GU?
