Several people have mentioned spatial awareness problems with PMS, well does anyone else get size awareness problems with your body and clothes? I mentally increase by about 3 dress sizes when I look in a mirror at that time, and am convined that I have overnight become a hippopotamous.

Two months ago I bought a size 14 wool coat from Ebay (can't resist a bargain, nobody else bid). Anyway it arrived when I was in the depths of pms, and I tried it on and looked and felt absoulutely HUGE! I threw it back in the wrappings and put it in a corner to give to one of my (rather larger) friends.

Two weeks late my OH said 'what's this'? and picked up the package. I told him that it was a coat I'd bought but it must be mis-sized as I was convinced that it was a size 20 or 22 from the way I looked in it, so I was going to give it to my (larger) friend. He unpacked the coat and said 'Don't be ridiculous, that will never fill Ellie, why on earth do you think it's so big?' He persuaded me to try it on again, and it looks fab and fits perfectly - it is a proper size 14 after all......

    :o

Yet another reason why it's a very bad idea for me to go shopping at that TOTM!

    :D

    Yes to all of this:D
Thank you for this site Martin

  • BlondeHeadOn i know exactly where your coming from. I feel like a whale but its only my stomach that gets bloated. But i feel like its my whole body. Its my hormones that are doing things to my mind lol. My stomach gets so bloated i look 6months pregnant! and as hard as i try it not to, each month its the same GRRRR! I dont look any different to my friends they say im the same but i feel it. Anyone have any ideas to eliminate the stomach swelling. As for having people around me i just say i need my space at the moment. Im not single but i do live on my own so luckily i can retreat to my settee or bed with a book or my laptop. I think i wrote a post on here 2weeks ago about my new boyfriend and when i read it 2weeks later i thought OMG why did you feel so sorry for yourself, ive got everything i could possibly need, want and more. And i had written that thread when..... you guessed it it was my TOTM.

Lol...just found this thread whilst searching for tips on dealing with period pain.

You all make me feel normal. :D

I go blind, deaf, dumb and stupid when it's TOTM. I have a set cycle which happens every month.....I have a 'woe is me' time (that's where no-one loves me and I seriously consider leaving home), then I have the 'can't do anything right' time (that's when I'm safer just sat on the couch otherwise I will accidentally break things or just do everything wrong) and the 'get out my face or I will kill you' time (which is really self explanatory :o).

After years of mucking up, I have finally realised it's better to have a few days/week delay rather than have wonky wallpaper or cut short skirting. :rotfl:It's also probably kinder to the kids to live off ready meals for a couple of days rather than have to face the cremated offerings they get given simply because Mum 'forgets' or can't concentrate. :D
