Ooh this is my local Asda :D

I think it's brill they did this, because the warden in that car park is a tit, would have loved to have seen him ticket that one :rotfl:

The police were probably attending an incident, and there is nowhere close by to park thanks to the idiot warden putting cones all round the front and blocking the pick up point because people were parking there for ages.

That's probably it, that and the fact that if they have to get someone (who may not be all that co-operative) into the back of the car the ability to open the doors fully would be handy.

I get the impression at times that people are just spoiling for an excuse to have a go at the police, and the real shame of it is, that the police will have to waste a fair bit of time sorting it out, time that would be better spent on doing other things.

I love the comments, looks like the locals don't have a lot of time for the particular newspaper.

"last night, charity Darlington Association on Disability also raised concerns. Chairman Gordon Pybus said: “If there was no emergency, it is an absolute disgrace.
It makes you lose a lot of faith in what the police are doing in terms of equality.
They have a duty, as officers of the law, to promote equality.
“People may think it is a minor thing to park like that, but for a person who needs that bay, it is a major thing.
“We shouldn’t have to tolerate this from police officers.
“Anyone else who parked in a disabled bay without a blue badge would get a ticket."

Wonder why he didn't point out that of course any ticket could be torn up, thrown in the bin, ignored or even made into a paper aeroplane?

Perhaps as chairman of the local disability action group he could use his time to become better informed?
