so my son is 17 months and there's obviously not much he can do creativity wise lol!
a lot of our family live abroad and don't get to see him, other than by webcam so we wanted to do something really personal on christmas cards this year
all we could really think of so far is hand and foot prints etc - he can't even draw with crayons yet.
i saw another thread with the rudolph handprint which looked awesome but i don't want to steal someone elses great idea
what other sorts of things can i do?

How about a picture of your son dressed up christmassy stuck onto the card. Means its a nice picture they can keep afterwards too!
Or if you wanted to involve him more maybe a christmas tree then different coloured finger prints ont he tree are the lights?0 -
my daughter is 2.5 and each year we have sent a photo to distant relatives. sometime posed sometimes not. i.e. one time she was wearing nannies glasses so we put "she's writing her, checking it twice" inside the card. we also tried a photo of her holding xma slights, which was pretty!
if he cant draw how about getting some black card and putting snowflakes of glue, then letting him sprinkle loads of glitter and confetti stars? i like the xmas tree idea too, you could draw or print off some xmas type pictures and let him scribble/finger paint and paint all over them0 -
What about a handprint christmas tree, then he can decorate the tree with glitter and sequince and the put a red square underneath for the bucket.0

Hand print angels work well too. Usborne do a book with simple projects in like these and they work really well.
I just used to give them stickers and crayons and foam sticky things etc and just let them do whatever...

There is some great stuff on here, me and DS made quite a few projects last year.
We made the hand and footprint reindeers but used poster paint on brown paper, they looked fab and we all still have them from last yearDS had great fun paddling around in the paint!!

Another good idea is the Christmas photo baubles you get in a pack from Boots...take them apart and put in two photos back to back and they make nice presents to send to relatives to hang on their Christmas tree.
A couple of years back I gave a couple of these to my daughter....one bauble had my grandson in his elf costume when he was in his nurserys Christmas production and the other one of my baby grandson in a santa style babygro, she hangs these on the tree every year.0
