Season ticket, oyster or anything else?
Hey, Im trying to figure out the best (and cheapest and fastest) way to travel from Sutton (Surrey) to Chessington. At the moment I have got a monthly season ticket which was about 96 pounds and I sometimes travel from Sutton to Wimbledon and the Chessington, sometimes from Sutton to Mitcham Junction and then Wimbledon and then Chessington and also sometimes from Sutton to Epsom, then Motspur park and then Chessington. Now I could get a season ticet which covers zones 3-6, but in that case I couldnt go through Epsom, coz it's outside of zone 6 and thats not really great. I dont know if Oyster season would come any cheaper and I'm not sure if maybe I should just get a season to Epsom, then take a bus from there that goes to Chessington (465). I'm traveling 5-6 days a week and most weekends. I also heard that there is a possibility of taking a bus to Malden Manor and train from there. 96 pounds just seems a lot, considering Chessington is quite close to Sutton and taking trains takes me all the way up and then back down again. Any advice?

Before buying a ticket work out the quickest way of getting there and back using the same route. Once you have worked that out then getting a ticket will be simple.
An Oyster season ticket is just the same as a paper season ticket covering zones 3-6 in your case. If you wanted to travel to Epsom on the trains then you would have to get a paper ticket with an extension to Epsom on it.
However the buses in Epsom are generally London buses so you can need a travelcard zone on your paper ticket to use them free.
Oh and another problem you have is that the cheapest train season tickets rely on you using the same train company for all your travel.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Annual tickets work out at around 10.5 months times the monthly cost.0
