Microsoft outlook; No subject heading

Hi. I hope someone can help me. Since my better half logged me off the computer and shut it down the other day, when I open up my emails in microsoft outlook, the senders name appears but I have no subject heading. The only way I can find out what has been sent is to delete them and then open them up in the deleted folder. Could someone please instruct me in to getting the subject header back. Thanks.
