Bank account without photo ID?

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a bank account that can be opened without needing to produce photo ID? Or if there is a way around it?

My cousin needs a bank account opening for his JSA to go in and he has no photo ID, at the moment he is having it paid into my grandads account and he is mithering my grandad all the time.

He is 19 and when he tried to get one but does not have a passport or provisional, and it seems stupid to have to get one in order to get a bank account.

Any ideas would be fantastic.

You don't have to have photo id to open a bank account.
His letter from Benefits agency stating what his entitlement is can be used for either id or address confirmation.
If he is on Electoral roll then the bank can confirm the address from this.

Thanks, all bank accounts that he has tried to open they have always asked for photo ID so hasnt been able to.

I am not sure about the electoral role so will have to ask about that one.

if he's under 20 he can also use either his birth certificate or medical card
