Closing a PayPal account

Hi,

I'm about to close my PayPal account as it's unusable with the error message from eBay of; "This email address cannot be used for PayPal payments at this time."

This has been going on for about 4-weeks now with eBay blaming it on PayPal, and PayPal blaming it on eBay.

My remaining auctions have now closed without any problems. I have an eBay account which has been registed since 2001 with 250 100% feedback. The PayPal account has been setup for about 3-years with about £1000 having gone through it.

Everything is in perfect order and without any help from either eBay or PayPal all I can realistically do is to close the accounts and set them up again.

Will I be able to use my credit card and current account with PayPal again, as in the accounts I'm already using?

ps. I'm mildly peaved at how oblivious both eBay and PayPal are that their developers have 'done' something, and since it isn't on their screens, the problem doesn't exist.

I've just been continually bounced back and forth between them.

Have you tried paying money into that account direct... from a friend, perhaps?

If the account is functioning and accepting payments, at least you could narrow it down to ebay's problem.

Some people are hinting it's a problem with turbolister. You're obviously one of a few with the same problem.
