Help please re IS/JSA

I am leaving the family home wand moving to a different city with the childfren due to numerous issues.

I will need to claim IS untill I can find out if my 3 year old can get into nursery etc and then my intention is to find a job.

I curently work 21 hours a week and there dad has them for the days I work, but moving away means I will be resigning and I have read on the internet that cos I have made myself jobless, then I will not be entitled to IS.

If i cant get IS then I cannot afford to live before I find a job. I am soo stressed out about this and need advice please. I am not good at all with talking to people either over the phone or face to face.

Thanks in advance

  • You can claim IS regardless whether you have quit your job or not, you will not get sanctioned so don't worry :)

If you was only entitled to JSA then you could get sanctioned, but IS does not require you to look for job, so there is no sanction put in place, hth.
