Swop Zonealarm for Comodo questions

I'm looking at swopping ZA for Comodo. 1st hurdle - 32-bit or 64-bit version, how do I tell that? Also, is there a preferable order of doing things?

After you've gotten yourself virus free perhaps swap both for the built in windows firewall? It does actually work when turned on and arguably is more effective than alot of 3rd party firewalls.

More urgently perhaps swap out AVG (unreliably junk AV that doesn't actually stop viruses) for one of the reliable free antivirus programs that are around.

Does that log show a virus then? I had an AVG alert come up while looking at Hijack This, did a Malwarebytes quick scan which didn't pick up anything

The Comodo firewall is an excellent choice if you want more control over you're machine. It also includes Defence+ which monitors things such as the registry and low level hardware accesses. I think you'll find there's a download with both 32 and 64 bit versions included, but as you're running XP it's much more likely to be the 32 bit version that you're running.

I'd also recommend getting rid of AVG. I'm using Avira ( there's a nag screen when it updates, but it's easy to disable on XP ), but Comodo's one is pretty good too.

ZA and comodo are both excellent choices if you want to slow down your pc, use windows firewall instead.

uninstall avg, switch to avast, and uninstall rapport and oodefrag, disable defender too if you want speed.

I decided to give Avira a try. Uninstalling ZA seems to have solved the problems I was having of PC games not installing which has stopped DS moaning but the negative that I won't get near MY computer for weeks! So Comodo it is for now see how it goes.
Have been reading about Rapport, I've suspected it was slowing the computer so will look into uninstalling that and the defrag thing, I use the windows one anyway. I uninstalled Windows Defender since my earlier post, is that what you mean?
