Menorca

Hi,

trying to decide on summer 2011 ideas. Since there will be 8 of us (my parents, my sister and friend, me, my husband and our two kids who are 4 and 1) we think geting a private villa is probably the cheapest option. Ive been looking on holiday-rental and owners direct so far.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to go in Menorca? we'd like somewhere fairly quiet but that had places nearby.

or..we're not set on menorca, its just hard to search without thinking of a destination! anyone who knows any areas that would be good for a week or two in the summer it would be great to know!

thanks

  • Try Solmarvillas website. Good villas at reasonable cost. I went to Cala Galdana which is a lovely place but not busy enough for me. I prefer Cala n Porter. Lovely place with plenty choice of restaraunts. Plenty quiet villas within easy walking distance to the main areas

Villaplus is a good site - we stayed (5 of us) in Cala en Forcat. Short bus ride to Citadella with nice restaurants and harbour etc.
Cala en Forcat has its own restaurants, shops and plenty to keep kids occupied. Lots of bouncy castles and child friendly restaurants - but not good for beaches - so make sure that you have a good pool.
Villaplus villas all come with pool tables and table tennis so that you can get the family challenge going!
Also has playstations / DVDs to keep you busy even if you are unlucky to get a cloudy day.
