What a load of rubbish!!! Seems the customer knows more than the "experts".
This is so true. In my last three visits to bank/building society branches, I've heard bad advice being given on all three visits.

Visit 1: was with my mum in Nationwide querying something with her ISA. I told her the answer when we were at home but she wouldn't believe me so we had to visit the branch*. Girl in the branch simply just agreed with my mum. If I wasn't there, she would have been given wrong advice. Knowing she was wrong, I asked her to check with someone more senior. The "manager" didn't know the answer so she had to phone the ISA department. They agreed with me and we were sent away with the correct advice.

Visit 2: waiting in HSBC at the desk at the front to ask for a copy of the T&Cs for a particular product. Man in front of me was HSBC customer but used a Co-op ATM. No money. She sent him back to Co-op as "they were the only ones who could sort the problem". Absolutely wrong advice as the Co-op couldn't do anything. HSBC should log the details/ask him to fill in a form and dispute it with Co-op themselves.

Visit 3: overheard a very loud "advisor" in Barclays telling an older lady that "these days, there isn't any need to spread out your money". Made me cringe when I heard the lady had over £100,000 of savings which she was paying into a Barclays account.

    * = yes, she is getting to that age :rotfl:
