yep netgearApparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

Thank you - in that case what's the difference between the different Netgear routers? Seem to be big price differences - and does the number of ports mean number of computers able to access it? Eg most say 4 LAN ports - does that mean only 4 computers can connect?0

you can have 4 physical connections, as well as numerous wireless connection, as with most wireless routers.
There's 54, 108, and mimi routers, the first two are a different speed between pc to pc, but it is always faster than your internet speed, so makes no difference, and needs special ethernet cards to take advantage.
mimo is better for buildings with bad signals, but to make the most of it you'll need special adapters.
54G is good enough for most people, and is the cheapest.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Great so as the others will all have wireless the 4 port thing doesn't matter?
In that case is any 54g router OK?0 -
yes,
any wireless cable/dsl router should work (in theory).
Make sure you encrypt it..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
