Car insurance quotes

shes married, homeowner, live in a very desirable area
Is it very desireable for thieves?
I have seen this with house insurance where people assume that an area that appears nice would be automatically cheap.
This isn't necessarily the case.
It goes on claims history for the postcode, and desireable areas can be attractive to criminals and can have a high claim rate despite appearances.
There are a large number of factors involved e.g. type of car, occupation, mileage, postcode, gender, age, cover required, NCD included?, excess, claims, convictions, length licence held etc.
It's quite difficult to pin it down, but being a married female is positive and everything else looks good, so it could be that the postcode is less desireable in insurance terms than you think.
You can't tell just by knowing the area, you'd need access to the claims statistics OR if you were really interested in finding out you could do quotes for different postcode areas.0 -

I suppose you could be right - expensive houses and cars are more appealing to thieves than, well, the opposite.
Saying that, I've lived all over the country and my parents postcode (the first place i ever insured my car) always worked out cheapest, by quite a long way actually.
I know she has paid very little beforenow, so maybe its just down to the general increase in insurance premiums..?0
