Haven Marton Mere or Cala Gran?

Hi

Please can anyone who has been tell us which one they would reccommend. We're looking at booking for a weekend during October half term.

I would definitely say Marton Mere is the better park and have stayed several times with the Sun holidays. Only once went to Cala Gran because Marton Mere was fully booked and it wasn't nearly as nice. Although the park itself is quite big the accommodation is all easily walking distance from the facilities.

MM has a big Tesco nearby for stocking up while CG only had a Morrisons though I think an Asda may have opened since. Also, it's very easy to get into the town centre both in the car and on public transport - the tour bus comes right to the park! The setting of Marton Mere is really lovely too as it is part of a Nature Reserve.

Thanks for that. Marton Mere was the one we were leaning towards and its not much dearer. How small is the pool? We went to Greenacres and the pool was quite small but the kids (14, 12 and 9) weren't bothered.

We were hoping to book through the Sun but typically the weekend we want isn't offered!

we went to both last year and id say Marton Mere. Mind you we did manage to get stuck at Carla Glen Lol and flooded in

Thanks for the replies. Think we're going to book it this week. Typically the date we want isn't available through the sun holidays and with breakaway theres no availability so it's going to cost us a lot more :mad:

Definitely Marton Mere - much nearer to Blackpool & all the attractions. Stayed there twice and enjoyed it both times we've been.

Another vote for MM. Have been to both, and CG just seemed grubbier although this was a while back.
