What happens now?

My auction for a bundle of my daughters clothes ended with no bids.

I have just received a message in My Ebay from someone who was watching the auction, but missed the end. They want me to give them a price for the lot.

What do I do now?!

The lot was for about 30 pieces, it started at 99p and had £10 postage. I was just trying to get rid of the stuff, so i'm not sure how much to ask for/if this is actually allowed in ebay?

If I agree a price, do I have to relist?

Thanks in advance for your help. This has never happened to me before!

No you're not supposed to do it but I have done it lots of times - coincidently on my daughters clothes lol. Give her a price that you would be happy with, check her feedback as well though to make sure she doesn't have loads of negs etc. It is up to you if you want to do it privately or relist with a buy it now, personally I have always done it privately and it has always been fine.

For 30 items of clothes I would ask for £10-£20 plus postage depending on what makes and condition they are

    Good luck :)

  • They only have a score of 13 with 93.3%.

I think I would be happier trading on ebay IYKWIM!

I would like to get rid of the clothes though.

I think I'll have to think a bit more!!!

  • With such low feedback I wouldn't even consider selling to this eBayer.

Yes it was - on things that were picked up in person.

You could relist the items again and send them an email with the item number in. If they are that interested they will bid again.

I wouldn't bother its really not worth the hassle, try relisting, maybe with better photos or change postage to £9.99 (somehow it looks more attractive?!)

Most people that email after the auction end are expecting the seller to do them a deal, ie sell at lower than the ebay listed price. They know that people would prefer to sell without the hassle of fees and waiting for item to end again. However, unless she expects these items for free (and she might well be expecting that) then I fail to see how you can charge her less than the 99p they were unsold at.

Second hand clothes are difficult to sell, you've already spent 15p listing them, you may well decide to risk another 15p to relist them and give her the auction number. (if item sells on relist you get your second lot of listing fees back, if it doesn't sell you pay both lots of fees)

  • I have a system for my unwanted clothes.

Best items on ebay, second best car boot sale, third best charity shop.

Any left over from the first two also go to the charity shop.

I have emailed people before, I did just last week cos my mum wanted a plate and I didn't get on in time! So I emailed her and she let me have it for the starting price!! It arrived in excellent condition and a happy mum!! I did check out all the feedback and that first though! I suggested relisting it but they just said it would be fine........ well I have got 467 = 100% feedback ;)
