Nearly-free Microsoft software for charities!
Not many charities seem to be aware that Microsoft has a scheme where it donates some items of software to registered charities via a third party, which takes a (fairly) small administrative fee.
Not surprisingly, there are a number of conditions and restrictions, and you have to jump through lots of hoops.
It is well worth spending quite some time looking through this website, particularly all the links from the middle of the article downwards.
To whet your appetite, you will notice that the top seller is Office 2003 Pro at £11+VAT.
(Also available under a similar scheme is networking equipment from Cisco, but that is likely to be of interest only to those charities which use it already.)
