Faulty baby monitor

Hello,

We bought a baby monitor from Argos about 3 months ago and this last weekend the sound stopped working on it, it shows as linked up but just no sound comes from it. We have the receipt and original packaging, would anyone know if Argos will replace it for us? If they offer to repair it then we will be without a monitor for a few weeks.

Let me know if you need anymore info.

Thanks,
Rob

Ps this is sent from my phone so sorry for any errors.

They can repair, replace or refund but any remedy should not cause a significant inconvenience. In this case you should be able to argue that a repair would indeed be such an inconvenience given the nature of the product. Bear in mind though that they could offer a partial refund based on the use you've already had.
  • Realistically they won't repair it.

They won't offer a partial refund either.

Insist on a refund or replacement.

Hooray! At last, someone who hasn't lost their receipt! Makes it so much easier to get sorted out!

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Ideally I'd like an exchange as when it worked it was a good monitor.

    Thanks again,
    Rob

You could go online and check if they have one in stock and reserve it.

Just a quick update. I went straight to Argos when I left work at 5pm, they exchanged it immediately for a new one after I explained what was wrong with it. The customer service was also excellent, it really does make a difference when the person serving you smiles and really seems to want to help you (especially when you've just finished work on a Monday).

Thanks again for all the help and advice,
    Rob
