Weekend in paris

Hi,

I'm looking to book a weekend in Paris for 2 people. Budget is a bit tight and was wondering what is the most economical way to go about booking a package? Would prefer to travel by eurostar as I hear it's cheaper..

Thanks!

I went on the Eurostar, if you book in advance you can get a good deal. Hotels there is masses of choice so you should find something to suit your budget. If you go a bit further out it will be cheaper. The metro is easy to get around on so it shouldn't be muchof an issue. Word of warning though Paris is eye-wateringly expensive when you get there.

Ways to save: We had breakfast at little cafes each morning for about £5 each, you got coffee, orange juice, pastry and yoghurt. Book all your tourist things in advance e.g. Eiffel Tower, then you won't have to queue & I think it's cheaper.
  • Breakfast from supermarkets is always a lot cheaper than hotel breakfasts, we usually buy bread, local meats and cheeses to eat along the river (lovely area near the eiffel tower!)

We normally splurge out on dinner in the artist quarter (latin quarter) which is near notre dame.

I can't post links but discount - london dot com sometimes do great eurostar & hotel deals.

I wouldn't say Eurostar are cheaper, but so much nicer than flying and easier, and I bet when you factor in airport parking and taxis or buses to and from airports, then it is cheaper. I think being flexible about when you book is the best plan.

Stopping for a beer will be an expensive treat, about E7, wheras E30 perhead should get you a good meal with wine.
