Hi All,
I went BR in 2008. I got discharged last year so have been "free" for about a year now. Me and my boyfriend want to open a joint account so we can pay money into for bills etc etc.
I'am with barclays (current acc after BR) and BF is with Lloyds TSB.
Can we apply for a Joint ac? (thinking of doing it with Lloyds)
Or should my bf just apply for one on his own and i pay money from my acc in each month.
Any help greatfully recieved.
Thanks in advance
Kay

If you got an account together, then this would create a financial association and your credit rating might reflect on BF's credit rating too.0

So it's better just for him to apply for one?
It's literally going to be for "bill money" so that we can separate household costs etc.
Thanks0 -
wont matter if he applies or you...as your a discharged bankrupt as JCS1 said it'll create a financial link meaning the bank will check both your history and with bankruptcy on your file for 6yrs they may decline an account
BUT...the co-op have been known to offer a joint account (cashminder) no questions askedWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Yep, my wife and I were offered a joint cashminder account when we applied for our individual ones. You can apply by phone or in branch.0

Only thing is if you have a joint bank account you will be linked with him and if he applies for credit ie: new phone contract he may have bother as he is linked to a bankrupt. It may be best to ait until it drops off your file.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
