Personalised numberplate question

For any "new" plate - definitely. For one that's second hand I'd shop around because they can be for sale at more than one supplier at a time.

Paid £150 inc fees for mine from R4V yet saw it for £510 at Newreg.

Thank you all for your replies. I didn't realise it was so complicated, may be easier to leave them on the car, and just pay the transfer fee. I haven't decided to buy that particular car yet as it is not my chosen colour! Will be having a look at it at the weekend.

If the plate is still on the car then there is no transfer fee. Not sure what you're referring to here?

And it's not that complicated, just long winded and annoying, like anything the DVLA do.

Please don't buy a car based on it's colour.
