Hotmail password - web security cert not safe!

I'm trying to change my hotmail password but each time I click on the relevant section to do this, a page appears saying that there's a problem with the security certificate and advised not to proceed. It also says if I want more information, look at the "Help" feature in Internet Explorer. I have McAfee security so I presume it can't be them if I'm being directed to IE.
This has been happening for at least 2 weeks now. Up until then I changed my password every couple of weeks or so with no problem. Can anyone help please?

Does this link help? https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx
The issue you're seeing might caused by a redirect to a genuine site with a genuine certificate problem, maybe Microsoft aren't aware of this. You could also view the certificate details to see what the problem is with the certificate, expired, or some other reason. Can you post the link that you're redirected to when you try and change your Hotmail password?0 -

The time/date and/or timezone on your computer is wrong. Fix it and the error will be gone.0 -
Possibly failing CMOS battery on the motherboard? This will cause the date/time to reset to the defaults (usually some date in 2001) each time you shut down.
Quick fix, 10 minutes, and costs a couple of quid.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I most cases it's a user error. People like to use the date/time in the systray as a calendar, then click on a date in the past or future and here we go...
That's why a normal restricted user has no rights to do it, only an administrator.0 -

I wouldn't be surprised but check out what the other posters have recommended first, ie. system date & time.0 -
Thanks to those posters who offered constructive replies. I've checked the time/date and they are both accurate. The IE message doesn't give a link that I can show here; it's just a message on the screen along with the warning that there's a security risk with the certificate - suggesting looking at the IE Help menu.fitzroy0

What is the URL which gives the error message? Is it https://account.live.com/...? Nothing wrong with it's certificate.
And what's the exact error message? Can you make a screenshot and post it here?
Did you try a different browser, Firefox for instance? I would ditch IE anyway...0
