nowpanicking wrote: »Hiya determined, I started running just over a year ago - have done a few 10k's now but that was the first half marathon. I really feel the benefits from running - it's definitely a good de-stresser!! Plus I've def lost weight as well, so bonus!! Really do it for the healthy body and mind though ... plus it's free!!! (apart from the shoes etc)

I've just started running (although its a bit of a stretch to call it running at this point!) am doing it for a number of reasons, one of which is I am prone to being depressed at times, and have some stresses in my life which I don't have much control over (I can reduce these stresses but cannot erradicate completely, only time will do that) and it suddendly occured to me last week that I need to do things to keep myself well all of the time to reduce the risk of crashing and burning- eat a healthy diet, excercise, look at changing jobs & reducing stress/responsibility, develop my social network and not keep isolating myself. All seems simple and easy enough to do. the irony I work with ppl with mental health problems and advocate reducing stress to them & yet I don't apply this to myself! Anyway sorry for the rant
(I'm also hoping for the weight loss as a happy by-product!) I must say I really am loving the way I feel afterwards :T x DF as at 30/12/16

Determined, yeh, running definitely does help to de-stress - that was one of the main reasons I started... when I started I could only run for a couple of minutes at a time so keep it up - it's definitely worth it in the end... and like you say, the feeling you get after you've finished running is amazing

Redsam... I think £400 is pretty steep considering it's not the teacher's full time job and you're providing food and drinks as well!! Mind you, I got married 14 years ago so prices might have gone up a bit since then!!!:rotfl: Another possibility is finding someone who is training to be a professional photographer? They might do a cheaper deal as they'll be getting photo's for their portfolio plus gaining experience!New starting debt 30/12/2018 £30,164.76:eek:
