  • I think it's really disappointing that in a democratic society where we vote to support a welfare state and an NHS that serves everybody regardless of income that we have such negative and stereotyped views as those posted by grex. If the UK's welfare system upsets him so much then perhaps he should live in America where the two tier system is evident and is arguably the cause of their ever increasing violent crime and ghetto formation.

I work in the NHS and see hundreds of patients every week, yes there are people who abuse the welfare system, however the vast majority of people on benefits are on them for perfectly legitimate reasons and some people are struggling and avoiding claiming because they don't want to attract the bigoted comments like those that have been spouted on this forum.

I'm assuming that the posts by Grex are all a wind-up to gain attention. Some of us are lucky enough to not need benefits, but they're available should the need arise and the NHS is still free for all. He should hope that his luck continues and that he is never unfortunate enough to need state help.

He should also use the intelligence he claims to have and think carefully about what he posts in future. Vitriolic and bigoted posts have no place on a forum like this.

  • Clearvisor - it's a UK local rate number

    :)

Ant1974 - I'm sure the answer machine said they're Phillips bulbs - not received this offer yet, but if so they're normally bayonet fitting.

If you need screw fittings, the best prices I've found are at Ikea or http://www.proeco.co.uk/

The ones I received are bayonet fitting, the type that (supposedly) last for 6 years.

2 x 11 watt, equivalent to 60 watt regular bulb, and
2 x 14 watt, equivalent to 75 watt regular bulb
