Ghosts on my TV.

Ok, i have ghosts on my tv, and not the ones that scare you (before anyone says i need an excorsism)

Im running SKY TV and I have a tv that has free view (DTV) which is from a ariel antenna on my roof, obviously my sky tv is from a dish.

When i watch sky channels i see 'ghosts' which i think is from the freeview. Now the reception is very good, but if i disconnect the tv ariel from the back of my tv set the reception is not as good from sky tv. I cannot understand this as sky is from my scart lead and the tv surely should not effect picture quality when i remove the tv ariel.

can anyone throw any suggestions whats happening here, and how i can eliminate ghosts without effecting the quality of the picture.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Is your TV aerial looped through your Sky box?
Its possible that you are viewing Sky via a spare RF channel on your TV rather than via scart.
Also check that the AV channel is set to receive the appropriate signal i.e Composite or RGB, and not S-Video.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I've never had this myself but a month or so back someone was reporting the same thing and it was caused by crosstalk within a poor quality scart cable.

That suggests a cheap'n'nasty cure - disconnect pin 19 at the TV end.

I just posted the first link with scart and ghost. If you need more info there may be better pages out there.

when you say disconnect wire 19 is that on the scart lead?? the little wire bit, so basically just pull that '19' out??
