I have bought the xbox for my boys for xmas and need to buy a new telly, there is no aerial in the room so tv is for xbox and watching dvds only. I don't want anything bulky and want it to be at least a 20" screen, has anyone seen a better deal than this one from pixmania...? thanks in advance...

I'd just get a widescreen monitor, that way you can use it with a pc too if you have one kicking around.
For about £260ish you should be able to pickup the Philips 200W6C (I think Amazon have it for slightly more). It's got the Dell 2005FPWW panel which is highly rated, they're won't be any (or barely any) ghosting, and you won't find a sharper picture. It's also widescreen too, so the 360 games will look as they should.
If you can afford more the Dell 2007FPW is (or was) £303 on Dell's website. Probably what I'd go for."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Ok, I'm going to show my ignorance now but I thougt you would need a scart socket to connect the 2 together, where and what with would I plug xbox into a monitor....I'm basing this on the ancient monitor I have so please excuse me!0

Oop sorry, ignore my advice. Just re-read your post, I was answering if you had an Xbox 360.
If it's an Xbox (not Xbox 360), then yeah you'll need to go with something like the example you already gave."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Yes it is a 360...thanks.0

Oh cool, ok then.
Yeah the standard cable that comes with the 360 will do scart and component (which is High Definition). Component can be quite rare though, or at least from what I've seen (in Europe).
Anyway, I've got mine hooked up to my PC tft. You need to get another cable, something like the link below.
I can switch between my Xbox and PC which is quite handy and means I only need one display. Plus by doing it this way, it's running in High Definition (it won't be on the scart) so the graphics look excellent.

This is the cable I bought, it's very good, well made.
If you can stretch the budget it could be worth it (I don't know if you have a PC). It'll probably cost you around £270-285ish in total, keep it as an option in mind."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
I can't find the philips one anywhere but came across this one only 19" screen but a quick response time

Personally I don't feel the responce time effetcs the 360 as my HD LCD has a responce time of 20 ms and I don't find any lag or shadowing etc on my TV0

You won't find much cheaper, at least not for a 20". It's build quality is ok, but it's the panel itself that stands out. A 19" tft might be an idea, you could spend a lot less in doing so. The nice thing about the Philips is that it's widescreen. I think all the 360 games are widescreen, so they won't look squashed (resized as they would on a normal monitor)."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
