What's the 1 thing you cannot give up, even during this credit crunch??

Books--I know I could go to the library, but they never have anything up to date, what they do have you have to wait ages for and sometimes they smell a bit interesting. So interesting in fact, that I have been known to read one holding it in a teatowel that I threw away afterwards.
I dont like selling them after I read them either. And I dont give them away or even like lending them out.
Just sat here thinking about the books and I think I might have abit of a book problem!
I'm the same. In fact, I'm about to get a handyman in to put up a load of shelves and put some bookcases together, the teetering piles of books are getting dangerous! I'm terrible with books, I've got a couple of hundred I haven't read yet, but I've just finished looking at Waterstones, Tesco and Amazon to see which is cheapest for the new ones I want. Most of the books I buy from charity shops or car boot sales, but there are a few authors where I like to get them in hardback as soon as they come out.
Our library is useless, I went in with a list of about a hundred books, mainly classics, and they only had three, and one of those no-one could find. And to order one in costs 50p (might be more now), so it's no more expensive to get them from a car boot. Plus if I really like a book, I have to keep it. I love walking past a bookcase and having a book I loved catch my eye so I remember about it. I have loads I'm not bothered about which I keep meaning to list on ebay/amazon/GM/RISI but it's a bit of a daunting task so I keep putting it off...
So yes, for me books!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

I can't think of anything I wouldn't give up! Have spent months convincing oh not to buy xmas or birthday presents for me & I think last night I scored a goal. We went through a list of things I *want* and there are about 10 things on that list & all except 1 is less than £20! I think the only thing I need is the money to pay for essentials & my family & friends (not meaning to sound incredibly pious!) xDF as at 30/12/16

so, from reading this thread so far, us good folks cannot do without:
a)sky
b)internet
c)books
are the major sellers/providers of these services the companies we should invest in then?;)
me, again internet and maybe sky/+ (altho more OH than me).
also, there are certain foods/toiletries that i won't compromise on - but i'll always make sure i get them cheaper/on offer. hence the two bags full of toothpaste etc i got half-price at sains recently, enough to last a year....or 2.....or maybe even 3........:o0 -
My dance classes. They keep me happy and healthy and I love them.
Internet is non-negotiable for us as we both work at home a lot.0 -
A little cheesy so advance warning that you will all need the sick bucket.........

The one thing I will not give up, even during this credit crunch is the hope that I will pay off my debts some day very soon. Now what did I do with that bucket............LBM & Debt July 2010 [STRIKE]£19,000[/STRIKE] now - £11,619.60 Long Haul Supporter #247
