Malwarebytes Crashing?

Any ideas why malwarebytes would crash during its scans (both quick and full scan)? Seems to crash when it scans Windows\Systems32.
The avira log is clean and hijackthis log seems fine too (although I may have missed something). Is the laptop infected or is it a problem with malwarebytes?
Thank you!

Could be a problem with bad sectors. I had a similar situation trying to cleanse a friend's PC last week that caused MWB to crash.
A CHKDSK fixed it.0 -
Usually a conflict with other security software or something nasty:idea:0

I've run a CHKDSK and still the problem occured.
I'm now trying the scan with 'enable advanced heuristic scanning' turned off as suggested by spg SCOTT's link.
I did try looking for the cause on the malwarebytes forum earlier but I had missed this suggestion, so thank you!
Will post what happens later...0 -
Finally managed to get a quick scan finished! Disabling that feature seems to have done the trick. Will try a full scan tomorrow.
Is advanced heuristic scanning a feature that enables common signatures for malware to be detected?0
