Do I re-send parcel.

My OH sent a parcel by recorded delivery a few weeks ago. It has just been returned to us by the post office because it had not been collected.
We have contacted the buyer and they replied that they had been on holiday and that the post office send items back to the sender if not collected after a week.
The buyer has asked us to re-send the item. Does this mean that we have to pay for recorded delivery again or can you just put it back in the post.
Thanks.

Ask them politely to pay the extra postage. It's not your fault they didn't tell you they'd be away.My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I would doubt that you can put it back in the post without paying postage again.
In your position I would email the buyer and say you'll resend it on receipt of postage costs. They must have know they were going on holiday and should have asked you to hold it until they returned.0 -
I agree with above advice, you shouldn't be out of pocket because they did not have the manners to let you know they were going on holiday.
Re-post it once they have sent you the payment to cover P&P.If you obey all the rules...you miss all the fun!! Katherine Hepburn0 -
Thanks all.
If they don't want to pay the extra postage are they then entitled to a full refund.0 -
