I never do anything to mine by way of maintenance and it still spreads like a weed. Every so often I'll dig up a clump and plant it somewhere less annoying.Val.0

Hi all

I was at an allotment open day and picket up a HUGE alpine strawberry plant for £1. What I want to know is once it's finished fruiting, do I cut down the leaves for new growth? Or do I just let them be?
TIA
Cut off the dead uns and leave the smaller ones inside (gives a headstart in spring). Alpines do not crop heavily but produce lovely pink or purple flowers, and taste lovely.Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).
