private rent property needed THIS WEEK

can anyone advise of any private rent houses they have seen or know of in Leyland lancs area as we know people who have been let down on a rental promise by their friends and have nowhere to go when their current tenancy ends this week--they need to move as there are 5 of them in a 2 up 2 down house and need a bigger home--have tried scouring the area but no use---thanks

Get them to ring the council and ask if there is a list of recommended landlords.
Also get them registered with the housing.
Use the local free paper to find letting agents. Ring them up and ask.
Tell everyone you know about their need - someone might know a friend of a friend.
Board in local supermarket - stick ad up.
Look on gumtree (but treat anything with caution that sounds too good to be true)0 -
? This is a private rent under an AST?? If so they do have somewhere to go (assuming there's no possession order already..) - they stay where they are for a bit..and have nowhere to go when their current tenancy ends this week--

in particular..
Just because tenancy comes to an end doesn't mean you have to go. Landlord has to issue the right notice (usually a "Section 21" notice, that has to expire & then he applies to the court, gets a court order for possession then gets the bailiffs in to carry you out. This all takes time, realistically months often.Court order
You cannot be evicted before your landlord has gone to court and the court has agreed to your landlord regaining possession of the property. The court's permission is on a written notice known as a possession order.
However, not leaving when you agreed to may mean a court judgement against you & not a very nice reference.
Even if there is a new tenant lined up to come into their current place, they should think about this option I 'umbly suggest..

artful - since we don't know the background re the 'ending' of this existing tenancy, urging tenants to remain in situ is disingenius. Yes, there are rights/procedures, but when a tenancy ends, the tenants should leave, just as the deposit should be returned.
Urging/advising parties to do otherwise, and bring in courts, arbitration schemes and the like is inappropriate other than where there are exceptional circumstances.

And what would you do if it were you & you find the alternative was to be out on the streets???
I'm sure your motives are pure as the driven but sadly most tenants have small understanding of their rights.. the posts here bear this out..
