Strange pop-up?

I've just switched my computer on and it seemed to be making a lot of noise, like it was busy doing something and everything was going slowly. I was using safari but it stopped working, so I switched to firefox. Eventually, a pop up appeared on screen that I've never seen before and I don't know what it is or if it's something dangerous. Could you please help me.
I took a screen cap of what it said -

I wasnt using Internet explorer at the time. I then clicked on 'show me the message' and the screen went black, then it showed a website that looked it was from Dell (my computer is a Dell and I'm using IE7 I think) and it looked like it was trying to download something. I admit I panicked and closed the screen then, thinking it was some kind of virus, so I dont know what it was trying to do. Now I'm worried because I don't understand what's going on. I'm running a full Malwarebytes scan right now.
Can anyone tell me what it is and do I need to be this worried about it, or is it something genuine?

I've tried searcing around for help and I found this - http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3524/p/19345075/19745142.aspx and it seems like others are having the same issue but I still don't understand it. I dont think I have Dell data safe. Malwarebytes is still scanning but hasnt found anything yet.
Could anyone please help me and tell me what it's likely to be? I think I might need to call out someone to fix it but that will be expensive. Please help!0 -
Nothing to be unduly concerned about, this happens because of partial incompatibility with windows. If you wish to stop the pop up appearing
Open Control Panel
Double click ‘Administrative Services’
Double-click “Services”
Right click – ‘Interactive Services’
from list in Window
Select ‘Stop’
Right click – select Properties
In ‘Startup type’ select ‘Disable’
Click “OK”0 -
But if I don't have Dell data safe, why would it be trying to download it now? I've never asked for it and I don't even use IE. I still have IE7 installed but now I mostly use Firefox.
Posts on that site and from searching on Google seem to think it's dodgy and is a virus. I just dont know what to think and wished I hadnt opened the message now. The whole screen went black and a really old looking internet explorer page popped up with something about Dell in it. It's never done that before.
Edit - I found this too which is what happened to me - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic345179.html I got that website appearing on my computer and that person thinks its Malware. So why isnt malwarebytes picking it up?0 -
Open malwarebytes, goto LOGS and post the WHOLE of the last scan
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin):idea:0 -
My Dell laptop came with a version of Dell datasafe and keeps asking me to update it which I just cancel. Have a look in your list of programs , you may find it was pre-installed when you bought the pc. I've never used it so don't know what it does but suspect the clue is in the name.0
