Hi,
My wife is considering applying for Carer Allowance for my father - He currently gets pension credit and Attendance Allowance.
If carer allowance claim is successful will that any of my fathers current benefits?
Thanks
MS

If he gets SDP then that will be removed from the Pension Credit when Carers Allowance is approved.0

Hi,
I have looked at my father Pension Service letter - It states:-
Because you are living with a partner - £202.40
And because you are severely disables - £53.65
And amount for housing costs - £37.02
So does that mean if my partner applied for Carer allowance - Severely Disables at £53.65 will be removed?
Also my mother was getting DLA previously but recently she has been informed that she will not be entitled to DLA - will this mean SD will be taken off which is currently being paid to my father?
Thanks

yes, because for couple consideration then both have to be in recepit of DLA/AA for it to apply even if only being paid to one person0 -
The SD is going anyway so you have nothing to lose in your wife claiming carers allowance.0
