Natwest Student account/credit card

Options
I went into Natwest on Friday to open my student account. I had already given all my details on the phone and was asked whether I wanted a credit card and I said no as I do not need one. When I went into the branch to show them proof of id address etc. the lady went through all the process again and at the last minute as I saw it she had applied me for a credit card. She hadn't even asked me and it's lucky I saw this as otherwise I would have no idea.

She said oh it's too late I've done it now and we'll just do it I'll cancel it straight away.
I would just like to ask whether this will affect my credit score in anyway and whether it's worth complaining about this?
(along with the fact I had to wait about 30 mins to see someone and many people in the queue got seen before me)

Considering the ferocity with which these people seem to want to get students to take the credit card I would guess that they're paid a commission/have targets. In which case that will probably have been her motive. I'd imagine it would be a lot easier to remove it from the application then to cancel it afterwards, in any case it's not her decision to make. I would definitely complain.

I don't imagine it would have much impact on your credit report.

I did ask and she said you're going to uni you're gonna need it aren't you.
I had already mentioned to her that I'd been working/saving nearly all my gap year yet she still went ahead with it and beacuse I was looking at the computer she just clicked past everything realy quickly it was lucky I just saw it at the end.

I've also had a look at the natwest website but i don't really know hwere to direct my complaint to. I'm a bit scared to go into the branch to complain should I just write a letter to that branch?
