PCN - Camden

Hello fellow MSEs
I need some help. My partner parked our car overnight in Camden in apparently a Residents only area (he swears that this finished at 11.30pm and resumes at 6am) however, we cannot be certain as a) its a good distance from where we live and b) this is just his recollection.
He parked the car there as he works for London Underground and was working overnight. The other lads parked on the same road. He has parked the every night for a month.
Yesterday, we receive a letter in the post stating that we had not paid for a ticket.
First question - what ticket? My other half and I have never seen this alleged ticket, and before you ask, he would have confessed to it if he had been given one rather than not told me as I manage all the money in our house.
Second question - The "photographic" evidence supplied shows this yellow sticky ticket stuck on our windscreen (allegedly) and an additional photo of apparently the "Residents only" sign. As it was night, the first photo was obviously taken with a flash. The second however is so dark, you cannot even see the writing on this sign.
So, basically, with no initial ticket (which we cannot prove but is the case) and a photographic evidence supplied by them that does not prove the sign was there or it it was what it indeed said, what should we do? The fine is now at £120 !!!! Have we got any chance of appealing this?
Thanks for any advice you can offer

Is it issued from a local authority? And does it say Parking Charge Notice (PCN) on it?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Post front and back PCN here and on pepipoo covering all personal details.
Go back to street and take pictures of any signage and post them too.0 -
It is from Camden and it is a PCN.
I will scan it - but cant do that until tomorrow...
Thanks guys - until then!

When you post the scan make sure it shows all pages of the PCN or Notice to Owner, whatever it is you've been sent.
And post the same thing on pepipoo forums as they are the experts on appeals and like to find flaws with Council paperwork, especially with SCamden. Register, read the FAQs and then post here:

HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
