Hi, Does anyone have the same problem as me ie. Confused.com doesn't like my mother's name!My home insurance is due for renewal. Thought I will check some quotes using Confused.com Everything I entered is fine till it got to the field that says enter my mother's name. It keep rejecting her name! Then I remembered I had a similar problem when I tried to use Confused.com last year to get some some quotes. I got so frustrated that I just went with my current insurer.Cheers.

Why do they need your "mothers name"? Is it for a password, and they've just decided that instead of saying "password" they say "mothers maiden name"?Kawan2 wrote:Everything I entered is fine till it got to the field that says enter my mother's name.
If that's the case I'd be inclined to use another word.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Sounds like confused.com is confused... oh the wit!
What's her name then? It's not "NULL" or something a computer would kick out is it?0 -
…or the Chinese family name “Ng”?古池や蛙飛込む水の音0

If I remember correctly, it said something like some insurance companies require the mother's maiden name as one of the security questions.
Looks like I won't be using confused.com again this year.0 -
It possibly needs to be a certain number of characters, so if it's a short name it might not be long enough. Using another word as suggested by Paul_Herring seems sensible to me.0

Make one up/use a place name/other word.kawan2 wrote:If I remember correctly, it said something like some insurance companies require the mother's maiden name as one of the security questions.
I wouldn't blame them - it's the insurers it uses that are placing apparent arbitrary limits on passwords.Looks like I won't be using confused.com again this year.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
