Devere's £19 rooms on again!

At the Ascot Deveres, near Legoland, they can normally only fit two additional camp beds into one of their larger rooms. I don't think there is a restriction on how many kids as the rate is by room, not per person. So if they don't mind topping & tailing or one sharing a bed with you, you'll be fine. HTH.
There are legal/ health and safety restrictions on how many people can be in a room. Numbers in excess of the restriction can lead to the insurance for the whole hotel being invalidated in the event of a serious incident.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Stopped at Ascot in May our 11 year old DS was in the worst camp bed we have ever seen, mattress really thin he hated it, room really small bathroom awful - would not use again. Great name awful service!!!:(0

I've stayed there quite a number of times with my children and never had a problem. You were unfortunate.
Have just looked at the website and it appears you can only select 2 children per room. It will then give you the option of a Family room if it is available. For additional children in the room with you it might be better to ring the hotel and find out what their policy is.0 -
We stayed at the Ascot one, last August and were upgraded to 2 interconnecting rooms on arrival. They were quite big rooms, with comfortable beds and it was very clean. We only paid £10 in total for the 2 rooms. There was a nice outdoor heated pool, which we used on the Friday, however this was only open weekdays, so did not get to use on the Saturday morning as planned. The grounds are nice and the breakfast good at £7.50 per adult and our kids ate free. I do think the photo on the site is deceptive though as the manor house displayed is used for functions and the accomodation is in 2 storey blocks, the other end of the grounds. Still good for Legoland as so near and it has free parking, with a nice little town nearby.Stopped at Ascot in May our 11 year old DS was in the worst camp bed we have ever seen, mattress really thin he hated it, room really small bathroom awful - would not use again. Hi, just wanted to say that this is the nearest deverevenues to me and i have stayed there on several occassions and have been in a few different rooms all of which have been really good, my friend who also books there has also enjoyed all of her stays, even being in the turret room! The staff have been brilliant, breakfast also was very good. Even when the bad snow was on and i couldn't get there, they moved my date to a few weeks later, and again room was very good. I've not had any problems with the ambulance service as they are in class through the day and i have been out exploring the beautiful and quiet countryside, lots of walks, Glentress is just the other side of Peebles with fantastic views and woodland walks. Had lovely lunches in peebles itself, 2 for £10 and plenty opportunities for breakfast if you dont fancy the hotels prices.
For £9, £19 or £29 for my break, i thought it was great value and having the pool etc to goto whenever i liked was brill too.
Hope those of you who booked have a brill time.
Wee fifer

Further to the comments on Barony "Castle". Would you think it was such a great deal if it said Barony Travelodge? Their marketing of the place as a Scottish castle is clever; you might want to try Staverton Park "Castle", St David's Park "Castle" or other De Vere "Castles".
That said we went up in the snowy winter, and had a nice bar meal of Haggis/Neeps etc. and met friends from Edinburgh (30 mins drive). Room was small for De Vere and getting dated. Pool area is small, but nice, although having to phone reception to get them to turn the Sauna on was frustrating as it took an hour to get up to temperature. Outside of hotel, Peebles town is nice for an afternoon's wandering.--- Warning: Grumpy Old Man in Training ---0 -

Re the sauna - i was advised at booking in, that if i wanted to use the sauna i would need to give them notice, and i just did it at breakfast or the night before and booked a time slot. Must have been frustrating if you weren't given this peice of info, think it would be useful to have it the actual room as part of the information pack. Our first room there was small and had no view, well of a wall, but the others have overlooked the river and the woods.
Have to say i cant compare any "castles" to travelodges, i find them quite impersonal, they do for a 1 nite stop, such as aiports etc, whereas all the "castles" have their own character. Would certainly choose them before travelodge, even if travlodge are on a cheaper deal. Have just been to staverton castle, stayed for a week, enjoyed the golf, the pool, the food and the room, modern one with flat screen tele. Staff were brill, got my husband the golf membership for his birthday and now find we get discounted stays, discount food & drink - 30% at staverton, even discount on spa treatments! :T:T:T even more reason now to look at other castles:)
Many of the rooms at the venues are being refurbished, but it is being slowly done, and if you are lucky you mght be put in one of these rooms. The ones at staverton as very modern whereas the ones refurbished at Barony that i've stayed in, are more in character with the hotel. Whites at Bolton is one of the nicest!
I will also watch out for the 2 new venues that have been added to deverevenues coming up in the offers.
For everyone who managed to book a date away, hope you have a fantastic time.
