Poor old marklv. He simply hates it that other people are more successful than him. His posts ooze bitterness and resentment that his life hasn't turned out as well as he wanted.
God knows, I'm no fan of Tony Blair but what he does with his money is completely up to him.
Agreed. Quite shocked at some of th opening posts, jealousy is a terrible thing. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Slimeball Blair and his multi-million pound gifts to his ugly spoilt brats:

This man really has no decency. Most young people have to scrimp and save to raise a deposit on a hovel while Blair's kids have million pound houses given to them on a plate. This from a man who has the blood of thousands on his hands. Beyond belief!
What can you say, crime pays but only if youre already at the top. Some scally thieving car stereos is a social pariah destined to a life time of incarceration and substance dependency.
Tony Blair ends up richer than God touring the world being paid millions more to gice after dinner speeches about his commitment to peace; after having arguably been responsible for a great many deaths.0 -
Didn't Paul McCartney make his kids do Saturday jobs when they were growing up? If I were a millionnaire I would teach my kids that money is earnt- often by doing boring unglamorous jobs. I would pay their university costs and then they'd be on their own. I would want to be proud of them in their chosen career, knowing I'd brought them up to be intelligent, resourceful, hard working and appreciative. They are an EYESORES!!!!0

Personally I would weedle my way to the top of a socialist political party, which I would then systematically destroy with Thatcherite ideology. As an aside I would then kill thousands of innocent people in order to assist my friends who own oil companies before leaving my country in the hands of the most incompetent prime minister it had ever seen.
I'd then further irritate people by plastering my unbearably smug visage all over WH Smiths bestseller section.
And then make my kids get Saturday jobs.0 -

to my opinion, many many countries , even now , would beg to have a primeminister like mr Blair .
the guy is not without faults, as not a primeminister has been or will be.
some of them invest in properties, some of them, like david cameron, obviously had them prior to becoming primeminister and invest their earnins in gold i pressume
as for the children of whole england not being abble to get same treatment as tony blairs children... get a life my friend, you sound like the last comunist left in europe !
Both succesful lawyers, and then party leader and primeminister for more than 10 years...cant be compared to my dad who had 2 university degrees and only just managed to own his house outright ..my dad choose philosophy , tony choose law and politics which obviously get harrased more but obvioulusly pay more0 -

Obvioulusly you are quite correct my friend!
Pieminister Tony Blair was the teensiest bit dishonest about his values as an elected politician however.
And Iraq never had any WMDs. Which he was well aware of while he was lying about them, saying they did.0 -

He apparently freely and quite piously admits, now, that he lied when he felt it justifiable to do so during his premiership.
And, yes, most parents in a position to do so, would help their children in getting financially established. But, one thing's for sure, the kids won't value and appreciate what they're given on a plate anything like they would if they had earned it themselves.
The self-respect and satisfaction that comes from personal achievement far outweighs the sense of being bought by handouts.0 -

I can't say I'm a fan of all the decisions Blair made during his term in power, but at least it is nice to see him being the best father he can and helping his children out.
Remember, there are probably a lot of people out there bearing a grudge against him due to the Afghanistan/Iraqi wars, and I wouldn't put it past some of them to stoop to taking it out against his children. At the end of the day, they are innocents, and it is nice to see that he is getting them set up in houses where they can remain (relatively) safe. Please call me 'Pickle'

Much as I despise Bliar, I do wonder if this money actually came from him or from his missus - top QCs ain't exactly on minimum wage, plus I gather she can command quite sizable appearance fees too.
She's not really at the top of the QC tree, though....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
