Advice on a Nissan Micra

the timing chain rarely just breaks,you tend to get a lot of warning,

the Micra problem on the later engines was caused by the chain stretching ever so slightly which causes poor running/sluggish/bad starting,

AFAIK it is an engine out jobby to change it

Problem is people have had to have the TC's replaced at mileages as low as 17,000, main agent price is £1100 +. independents are quoting £700 +
